Prysmian has cancelled plans to build a subsea cable factory at Brayton Point in Somerset, Massachusetts, which was intended to support the US offshore wind market.
The company cited the need to align capacity with demand and ensure efficient investment. Delays in permitting and slower-than-expected development of the US offshore wind market under President Joe Biden also contributed to the decision.
