Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) and Mitsui & Co. have acquired the terminal and port operations at the Port of Nigg in the United Kingdom from GEG. The deal also includes businesses involved in steel processing and in the manufacture of machinery and equipment for the offshore wind, oil and gas sectors. A share purchase agreement has been signed.

Following the acquisition, operations will be managed by Global Energy Service Holding, with Mitsui & Co. holding a 51% stake and MOL holding 49%. The Port of Nigg is expected to play a growing role in supporting both bottom-fixed and floating offshore wind activities. MOL intends to strengthen its involvement in terminal operations, steel processing, and related supply chains, combining its port and shipping assets with Mitsui & Co.’s industrial network.
