Vattenfall's net sales decreased by 19% to SEK 128,509 million compared to SEK 158,539 million in the same period last year. However, underlying operating profit increased by 23% to SEK 17,925 million from SEK 14,604 million.
The operating profit stood at SEK 32,615 million, up from SEK 13,541 million, while the profit for the period rose to SEK 26,244 million from SEK 6,293 million.
Net sales for the second quarter decreased by 16%, or 15% excluding currency effects, to SEK 52,010 million from SEK 61,750 million. Underlying operating profit dropped by 20% to SEK 4,041 million compared to SEK 5,057 million. The operating profit was SEK 11,860 million, a significant improvement from the previous year's loss of SEK 2,791 million. The profit for the period increased to SEK 9,365 million from a loss of SEK 4,895 million.
