Between January and September, Vattenfall’s net sales decreased by 18% (17% excluding currency effects) to SEK 177,082 million, compared to SEK 216,876 million in the previous period.

The underlying operating profit was SEK 19,297 million, up from SEK 15,550 million. Operating profit increased significantly to SEK 33,828 million from SEK 10,930 million. Profit for the period reached SEK 28,296 million, compared to SEK 4,737 million in the previous year.

Between June and September, net sales decreased by 17% (15% excluding currency effects) to SEK 48,573 million, down from SEK 58,337 million. The underlying operating profit was SEK 1,372 million, an increase from SEK 946 million. Operating profit was SEK 1,213 million, a significant improvement from a loss of SEK 2,611 million. Profit for the period was SEK 2,053 million, compared to a loss of SEK 2,186 million in the previous period.

Between June and September 2024, the offshore wind farms Vesterhav Nord and Syd in Denmark and the onshore wind farm Windplanblauw in the Netherlands were inaugurated. The development of the Swedish Kriegers Flak offshore wind power project was paused. A new power purchase agreement for wind power was signed with the steel producer Salzgitter in Germany. A partnership with Industrikraft was initiated to evaluate opportunities for co-investments in new fossil-free power generation in Sweden.
