In order to promote the acceleration of commercial-scale floating offshore wind deployments around the World Forum Offshore Wind (WFO) has launched the Floating Offshore Wind Committee. This initiative aims at duplicating the installed capacity and cost competitiveness seen with bottom-fixed offshore wind today.
As an industry-driven initiative the Floating Offshore Wind Committee has the following principal objectives:
1. Education, advocacy and policymaking
2. Enable cost reductions and commercial-scale deployment
3. Promote the highest health and safety standards
4. Engage with environmental stakeholders and maritime space users

This new initiative will be chaired by Bruno Geschier from Ideol and co-chaired by Clément
Weber from Green Giraffe. WFO members innogy and Northland Power have already confirmed to proactively participate in this exciting new initiative.
