German Economy Minister Robert Habeck has released a detailed strategy outlining actions aimed at boosting onshore wind capacity to 157GW by 2035.
The areas of action include promoting wind energy expansion under the Renewable Energy Act (EEG); supporting business models outside the EEG; faster repowering; mobilising more areas for wind turbines in the short term; speeding up the approval process; facilitating area security; strengthening social support; securing more qualified professionals; and facilitating the transport of wind turbine components.
At the Second Wind Energy Summit in Berlin, more than 100 leaders from federal and state governments, the wind energy business, and other stakeholders debated the strategy's implementation.
