India has announced a request for selection (RfS) to establish a 500 MW offshore wind power project connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) as part of Tranche-I. The project will be developed under a build-own-operate (BOO) model.
A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 22 October 2024. The deadline for bid submissions is 10 December 2024. Applicants must provide a security deposit of INR 3.7 million (about EUR 39,675) for each MW. The project has a planned completion time of 48 months. The selected developer will sign a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with SECI, selling the produced electricity to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). The wind farm will span 202 square kilometres in the Gulf of Khambhat, near the coast of Gujarat, and will be linked to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS).
