WindEurope has launched its Careers Hub, a central resource for people interested in careers in the wind energy industry. The platform is aimed at students, jobseekers and workers from other sectors who want to explore opportunities in wind energy.
The Careers Hub provides information on job profiles and career paths, training opportunities and employers. Users can also explore the qualifications required for different roles and take a careers quiz to identify roles that match their interests and skills.
Europe has more than 250 factories producing wind turbines and related equipment. According to WindEurope, the industry has invested more than €17bn in new or expanded factories, ports and vessels over the past four years.
The growth of the industry is expected to create more than 100,000 additional jobs between now and 2030. At the same time, skills shortages are already affecting the sector. WindEurope estimates that Europe will need 7,000 blade technicians, 6,500 field engineers and 5,000 pre-assembly technicians before 2030.
The Careers Hub covers roles across the wind energy value chain, including welders, technicians, engineers, data specialists, project managers, lawyers, finance professionals, communicators and supply chain specialists.
It also provides information on education, graduate programmes, internships and apprenticeships.
