Second Wind Inc. has hired Dan Vitti as Vice President of Operations. Vitti will focus on expanding the company’s manufacturing capabilities and operating structure to address the rapid market adoption of its newest product, the Triton Sonic Wind Profiler. Vitti comes to Second Wind with over twenty years of senior management experience in the electronics industry, ranging from start-up organizations to developed firms.

Energetx Composites, a sister company of S2 Yachts, yesterday received a US$3.5m clean energy grant for wind blade manufacturing. The grant, funded by the US government federal economic stimulus program, was administered by the state of Michigan. It will help the Holland, Michigan, firm with turbine blade design and worker recruitment.
