Enercon has installed the first E-nacelle for a customer in Germany. An E-160 EP5 E3 wind energy converter, featuring the E nacelle has been installed at a wind farm in Hämelhausen, Lower Saxony, Germany.
The new E-nacelle is box-shaped, 14.06 metres long, 4.99 metres wide and 3.40 metres tall. E-nacelles are fully cabled and tested already at the factory and its plug and play features optimise processes at the construction site. The E-160 EP5 E3 is one of three wind energy converters based on the new concept. The E-160 EP5 E3 has a nominal power of 5.56 MW. There is a selection of tower versions with hub heights between 99 and 166 metres. The rotor diameter of the E-160 EP5 E3 is 160 metres.
