GreenPowerMonitor (GPM), a DNV company, has launched an Energy Management System (EMS) designed specifically for renewable power plants.
By leveraging multiple schedules provided by operators, the system aims to enhance operational flexibility and automation. The system can automatically generate active power dispatch schedules based on weather forecasts. Besides day-ahead dispatch schedules that integrate changes in weather and price forecasts, GPM’s EMS continuously adapts in real time to other updates from various factors affecting plant behaviour. These factors include high-priority dispatches from transmission system operators and unexpected events such as equipment maintenance or malfunctions, with the system automatically adjusting and adapting its operations to the various situations a renewable power plant encounters over time.
