Sennen has won £112,000 in grant funding to create new digital tools that will support the construction of offshore wind farms.
The funding, which was awarded by the Offshore Wind Growth Partnership (OWGP), enables Sennen to expand its functionality beyond operations and maintenance, equipping operators with a single system that allows them to transition seamlessly from construction to the O&M phase. Construction operators, in the main, currently use a disparate set of tools, including traditional marine coordination systems, metocean data services, scada-monitoring, and stand-alone systems for work planning and safety management. The many interfaces between all these tools leave a lot of work to be done manually. The total cost of developing this new application will be in the region of £225,000 and it will be available from mid 2023.
