Under the agreement, Acciona Energía will sell a 49 per cent stake in its 1.3 GW photovoltaic portfolio in the USA while retaining a 51 per cent majority stake and continuing to operate and manage the assets. The USA portfolio consists of four solar plants: Red Tailed Hawk with a capacity of 458 MWp and Fort Bend Solar with 316 MWp in Texas, High Point Solar Farm with 127 MWp in Illinois and Union Solar with 415 MWp in Ohio.
The transaction also includes the sale of Acciona Energía’s entire stake in two wind farms in Mexico with a combined capacity of 321 MW. These are the El Cortijo wind farm with 183 MW and the Santa Cruz wind farm with 138 MW, both located in the municipality of Reynosa in the state of Tamaulipas.
The transaction is valued at 1 billion US dollars, equivalent to 855 million euros in equity value. Completion is expected in the first half of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals, fulfilment of conditions related to the transaction perimeter and the buyer securing financing.
