Acta Marine’s service operation vessel (SOV) Acta Gemini has started a long-term charter agreement supporting RWE’s Sofia offshore wind farm in the United Kingdom. Operating from Grimsby, the vessel will provide offshore accommodation and walk-to-work services for technicians and specialists involved in the commissioning and future operation and maintenance of the 1.4 GW project.
Delivered by Tersan Shipyard in June 2026, Acta Gemini was built to support offshore wind maintenance activities. The vessel can accommodate up to 88 personnel and is equipped with an offshore access system, a helideck and two daughter crafts.
Located on Dogger Bank in the North Sea, approximately 195 kilometres off the UK’s north-east coast, Sofia is expected to generate enough electricity to supply the equivalent of 1.2 million UK homes once fully operational.
