Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore has certified the Provence Grand Large floating offshore wind project, developed and owned by EDF, Enbridge, and CPP Investments. Located off the coast of Fos-sur-Mer, the project consists of three turbines, each with a capacity of 8 MW. EDF led the development, Siemens Gamesa supplied the turbines and towers, and SBM Offshore and IFPEN collaborated on the floating foundation design. Eiffage Métal was responsible for fabrication, and Prysmian provided the project’s dynamic cables.
Bureau Veritas experts monitored the production of key components across several continents, carrying out quality control throughout the process. Particular attention was given to the final assembly at Eiffage Métal’s Fos-sur-Mer facility, where detailed inspections and assessments were performed.
The transportation and installation phases were also closely supervised, with Bureau Veritas working alongside the marine warranty surveyor to ensure the safe and accurate deployment of the infrastructure. Final commissioning tests, witnessed by Bureau Veritas, confirmed the project’s operational readiness.
