The USA District Court for the District of Columbia has granted Empire Wind a preliminary injunction, allowing construction activities to resume on the Outer Continental Shelf for the Empire Wind project. The lawsuit challenging the USA Department of the Interior’s suspension order of 22 December 2025 will continue to proceed. Construction work had been halted following that order.
Empire Wind said it will focus on safely restarting construction activities and will continue engagement with the USA government to support the secure and responsible execution of the project. The project is being developed under contract with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.
