The USA District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia has granted Dominion Energy a preliminary injunction allowing construction to resume on the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project (CVOW). The decision permits work to restart while Dominion Energy’s lawsuit challenging the federal agency’s suspension continues.
Dominion Energy said it will focus on safely restarting construction activities. The company will also continue discussions with the federal government to seek a longer-term resolution while the legal process proceeds. The Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project will comprise 176 offshore wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 2.6 GW.
