Envision has completed production of the first EN-226/8.X MW offshore wind turbine for the 128 MW Vinh Long nearshore wind project in Vietnam at its Sheyang manufacturing base in Jiangsu, China.
The project will use 16 EN-226/8.X MW turbines, with all units expected to be assembled and shipped over the next two months.
The EN-226/8.X MW model is based on Envision's offshore wind platform, which has been deployed in Chinese waters for more than three years and has accumulated over 2.8 GW of orders.
For the Vietnamese market, the turbine has been adapted to operate in conditions characterised by high humidity, salt spray, heavy rainfall and frequent thunderstorms.
The company said the turbine's lighter nacelle design supports integrated lifting operations, which is intended to improve installation efficiency in shallow-water locations where heavy-lift vessel availability is limited.
