France has announced the launch of it’s third offshore wind energy tender with a new development zone, off the coast of Dunkirk in northern France. The new tender will be structured under new rules for competitive dialogue.
More details will be made public at a later stage after final consultations of the Council of State. France launched two previous tenders. In 2011, a total of 2,000MW were awarded across four development zones, off the coast at Fecamp, Courseulles-sur-Mer, Saint-Brieuc and Saint-Nazaire. In 2013, another 1,000MW in two zones , off the coast at Treport, Iles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier.
