Heerema Marine Contractors has announced that it has signed a contract with Singapore's Sembcorp Marine to transport and install the Sofia Offshore Wind Farm HVDC Offshore Converter Platform.The platform's fabrication will be executed at Sembcorp Marine’s yard, and offshore installation is scheduled for 2024. Heerema will install the platform using Sleipnir, its semi-submersible crane vessel (SSCV). RWE Renewables is developing the 1.4GW Sofia offshore wind farm, which is located 220 kilometers off the coast of Redcar, Teeside, in the North Sea on the shallow central area known as Dogger Bank.
