Iberdrola, through its British subsidiary ScottishPower Renewables, has installed the high-voltage direct current (HVDC) marine converter station for the East Anglia Three offshore wind farm. The project site lies about 69 kilometres off the Suffolk coast in the North Sea.
The converter station structure weighs 10,700 tonnes and measures 70 metres in length, 34 metres in width, and 48 metres in height. Installation was carried out by Heerema Marine Contractors using the heavy-lift vessel *SSCV Sleipnir*, which also installed the project’s offshore foundations in summer 2024.
