On the occasion of the Renewable Energy Forum Moscow 2013 REF2013, the Secretary General of the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) and the President of the Russian Association of Wind Power Industry (RAWI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, in order to intensify their cooperation and to accelerate the deployment of wind power in Russia and worldwide.
WWEA will support RAWI in establishing a wind industry in Russia, by connecting its international network and members with Russian counterparts. WWEA will also assist RAWI in advising the Government of Russia on favorable policies for wind power. RAWI will contribute to WWEA's international activities and provide first-hand information about the situation of wind power in Russia. RAWI will take part in WWEA’s activities, in particular within the CIS Committee, which will also become a forum for expert exchange in Russian language.
