Mercury NZ has agreed a long-term Corporate Power Purchase Agreement with Amazon for renewable energy for their Auckland data centres, planned for launch in 2024.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) would purchase about half of the real-time output of the southern section of Mercury's Turitea South wind farm near Palmerston North, for an agreed price for 15 years. The Turitea South wind farm has a capacity of 130MW and is expected to produce 370 GWh per annum. The financial terms of the deal are confidential.
