Iberdrola has confirmed a new agreement with Amazon to procure 159 MW of renewable energy from the East Anglia Three offshore wind farm.
This marks an expansion of their long-term global clean power partnership. The agreement is equivalent to 700 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of clean electricity annually. Alongside the UK project, Amazon has also entered into power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Iberdrola for projects in Germany, the U.S., and other locations in the UK. Throughout these PPAs' lifespans, Amazon has secured 54,000 GWh of renewable energy from Iberdrola. The East Anglia Three project, with a capacity of 1.4 GW, will be powered by 95 Siemens Gamesa 14.7 MW turbines. It is situated 69 km off the coast of Suffolk and is anticipated to be fully operational by 2026.
