Natural Power has released the results of its latest validation study demonstrating 99.1% accuracy for project analysis. The study is an evaluation of North American pre-construction wind energy yield predictions by comparison to operational production.
The project data used for the study was as follows:
- 58 Wind farm years
- 3,734 Turbine years
- 1,262 Turbines
- 18 Projects
- 2,265 MW
The median prediction versus operational output was 99.1%. Natural Power has undertaken this 2015 validation study update to transparently demonstrate the performance of its independent energy yield assessments (EYA’s). The study provides a framework that is regularly updated and continually fed with additional projects as Natural Power, and the industry at large, furthers its understanding of wind farm performance and strives for continuous improvement.
