Natural Power has supported Network Rail in securing a five-year renewable electricity supply agreement through a regulated tender process. Acting as technical advisor, Natural Power contributed to the design of the tender and carried out detailed technical evaluations of multiple bids to identify a suitable long-term renewable supply solution.
Following the assessment process, RWE was selected as the preferred supplier. Under the agreement, renewable electricity will be sourced from the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm, providing around 300 GWh annually. The supply is expected to cover approximately 65% of Network Rail’s non-traction electricity demand.
