Acciona Windpower has won its first contract in Brazil. The company will supply, install and maintain 40 3MW wind turbines for a 120MW wind farm owned by CPFL Renováveis, a subsidiary of Brazilian utility CPFL Group.
The Atlântica wind farm is located in Rio Grande do Sul, the southernmost state in Brazil. The contract covers the supply and field installation of the turbines as well as the operation and maintenance of the wind park for a period of 15 years. The company also plans to construct a wind power component assembly plant in Brazil.
