Airtricity Holdings Ltd. has acquired Canadian wind farm developer Gale Force Energy Ltd. in a deal worth more than CAN$10-million.
The acquisition of Gale Force Energy, a small firm with 30 wind farm projects in development across the country, is Airtricity's first foray into the Canadian market. Under the terms of the deal, Gale Force Energy will continue to operate as a Toronto-based subsidiary of Airtricity, and the company plans to invest more into research and development of new wind farm sites.
