Vestas has received an order for a total of 63MW consisting of 21 units of the V90-3.0 MW wind turbine for a project in the south-central region of the United States.
The order has been placed by WKN Texas LLC, a former subsidiary of Windkraft Nord USA Inc. (WKN USA). WKN USA, a subsidiary of Windkraft Nord AG, Germany, recently sold WKN Texas LLC to Enel North America, Inc., a subsidiary of Enel SpA. Vestas will supply, install and commission the wind turbines as well as provide maintenance and service for a five-year period. Shipment of the first turbines will begin in the second quarter of 2007, with the commissioning date set for fourth quarter of 2007.
