Ocean Winds has reached financial close for its first offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea. The project will use 26 turbines rated at 14 MW, incorporating a power boost feature to 15 MW, for a total planned capacity of up to 390 MW. First power is expected in 2028.
The project finance package is valued at around €2 billion and includes support from the European Investment Bank, which is providing close to one third of the total, alongside ICO and 13 commercial banks.BC-Wind is located about 23 kilometres north of the Polish coastline near Krokowa and Choczewo in the Pomeranian Voivodeship.
