Ørsted has announced that it has acquired Lincoln Land Wind, a 302MW onshore wind farm in Morgan County, Illinois, from funds managed by Ares Management Corporation’s Infrastructure and Power strategy (‘Ares’).
Ørsted acquires Lincoln Land Wind from Ares, which purchased the project from developer and construction manager Apex Clean Energy. Meta and McDonald’s have both signed long-term fixed-price PPA’s to purchase approximately 175MW and 126MW, respectively, of clean power output from Lincoln Land Wind. The PPAs with McDonald’s and Meta were entered into in 2020 and are effective as of COD.
