Ørsted has commenced offshore construction for the Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms in Taiwan. The company was awarded the 920 MW Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms in June 2018. In July 2020, Ørsted signed a 20-year fixed-price corporate power purchase agreement with a corporate customer to offtake the full production of the wind farms.

Since making its final investment decision in March 2023, Ørsted has begun manufacturing key components, completed civil work on the onshore substation, and started mobilising vessels for offshore construction. The offshore installation of the Greater Changhua 2b and 4 wind farms is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. The wind farms are scheduled to be fully connected to the grid in 2026.

The Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms have a total capacity of 920 MW. They are located 35 to 60 kilometres off the coast of Changhua County in Taiwan. The water depth at the project site ranges from 23.8 to 44.1 metres. The wind farms cover an area of 185 square kilometres. The project will feature 66 Siemens Gamesa 14-236 DD wind turbines, each with a capacity of 14 MW.
