RWE Renewables Offshore Holdco Four GmbH has been awarded the contract for the construction of offshore wind farms with a capacity of 980 MW in the North Sea. This was confirmed by the German Federal Network Agency.
The bidding deadline was 1 September 2022. The subject of the tender was an area located in the German North Sea (N-7.2) off the island of Borkum. According to the grid agency, the project developer who originally wanted to realise an offshore wind farm at the site has a right to enter the tendered area. This developer, Vattenfall Atlantis 1 and Global Tech 2 Offshore Wind GmbH, has the right to enter the tender until 31 October 2022.
