SgurrEnergy has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) in Beijing as part of a research collaboration into wind turbine power characteristics and design improvement.
The project is set to last up to three years and SgurrEnergy’s scope of services will include the deployment of its remote sensing lidar device, Galion Lidar, as well as technical assistance, data collection and analysis. The parties will work together to develop a measurement service for NCEPU clients, which will include a lidar wind measurement campaign, power curve assessment, wind turbine performance analysis and control system improvement. The first trial test at NCEPU’s state laboratory facility in North China will be a measurement campaign with SgurrEnergy’s Galion Lidar on NCEPU’s own 1.5MW wind turbine.
