Siemens secured an order for a 100MW wind power project in Puerto Rico. Between July and September 2011, the company also received five orders for the supply of wind turbines with a combined capacity of over 570MW from North America.
The combined order volume for all six projects is more than US$ 900 million and with a total capacity of over 670MW. Siemens will supply approximately 250 wind turbines each with a rating of 2.3 MW for four projects in the U.S. and a wind farm in Canada. A further 44 turbines with the same capacity are destined for a wind farm in Puerto Rico.
