A consortium comprising ABP, APG, and SSE Renewables (Noordzeker) has been selected by the Dutch authorities to advance their bid in the competitive 2 GW Alpha offshore wind tender in the IJmuiden Ver Wind Farm Zone in the Netherlands.
With the bid result timelines accelerated by the Dutch Government, the consortium will now refine the project ahead of a decision on whether to proceed with development, required by July 2024. A final investment decision is expected in late 2025. The proposed offshore wind project, located approximately 62 kilometres off the Dutch coast near IJmuiden, could have an installed capacity of around 2 GW if built.
