NEDO has announced the selection of two floating offshore wind pilot projects under the Green Innovation Fund Phase II in Japan.
The first selected project is the Japan Marine United (Semisub) off the coast of Akita. This project will utilise two turbines, each with a capacity of 15 MW. Consortium members include Marubeni Offshore Wind Development Co., Ltd., Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc., Akita Southern Offshore Floating Offshore Wind Corporation, Japan Marine United Corporation, Toa Construction Co., Ltd., Tokyo Rope & Textile Rope Co., Ltd., KEPCO Plant Co., Ltd., JFE Engineering Corporation and Nakanihon Air Service Co., Ltd.
The second project is the Seatec Corporation (Hybrid Semisub) project off the coast of Toyohashi. This project will utilise one 15 MW turbine. Consortium members include Seatec Corporation, Hitachi Zosen Corporation, Kajima Corporation, Hokutaku Corporation and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd.
