Sumitomo Corporation has acquired a 33.3% stake in the Gwynt Glas floating offshore wind project in the Celtic Sea off the UK, joining EDF power solutions UK and Ireland and ESB as a strategic partner.
The project has a planned capacity of up to 1.5 GW and is located approximately 40 km off the UK coast. It is being developed as a floating offshore wind farm, with Sumitomo’s investment marking the company’s first investment in a floating offshore wind project.
