Sumitomo Corporation and Tepco Renewable Power, in a consortium led by Sumitomo Corporation, secure rights for offshore wind project near Enoshima Island in Japan.
The government of Japan appoints the Consortium to oversee design, construction, and operation of the project in sea areas off the coast of Enoshima Island, Saikai City, Nagasaki Prefecture. The Consortium aims to involve Sumitomo Metal Mining and Sumco Corporation as offtakers for the green electricity generated. The 420MW wind farm will feature 28 Vestas offshore wind turbines, each with a 15MW capacity, and is expected to be operational by August 2029.
