Vattenfall has appointed Tüv Süd to carry out project certification for the implementation phase of its Nordlicht 1 and 2 offshore wind farms in the German North Sea. Project certification will be conducted in accordance with standards set by the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH).
This includes supervision of the manufacturing, assembly, transport, and installation of wind turbine components, as well as commissioning of the turbines. Tüv Süd will issue project certificates for both sites following completion of these activities. The two wind farms will consist of 112 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 1.6 GW. Commissioning is planned for 2028.
