Brazilian wind turbine manufacturer WEG is to supply 72 4.2MW wind turbines to CGT Eletrosul for the Coxilha Negra wind farm in southern Brazil.
CGT, a subsidiary of state power firm Eletrobras, will invest BRL 2.1 billion in the project, which is located in the city of Sant’Ana do Livramento in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil’s southernmost state. The wind turbines will be delivered in 2023 and 2024, and construction of the wind farm is expected to begin by the middle of 2022. Commercial operation of the wind farm is expected by the end of 2024. WEG will also take care of the transport, assemble, and commission the turbines, and provide operational and maintenance services.
