Aventa has acquired Irish Sea Contractors (ISC), an Irish marine contractor based in County Wexford. ISC specialises in marine civil engineering, commercial diving and subsea cable projects. The acquisition supports Aventa’s strategy to expand its operations business alongside its engineering and consulting activities. It adds ISC’s teams and project experience to Aventa’s existing transport and installation, cable installation and other offshore activities.
ISC has experience in subsea cable projects involving fibre-optic and power cables in Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe. Its work includes cable landfalls, pull-ins, nearshore installation, burial, protection and remedial works. Aventa plans to invest in its Irish operation, expand its services and create skilled jobs as the business grows. It also plans to establish a presence in Dublin to support clients and develop new projects. Following the acquisition, Áine Kinsella, Managing Director of ISC, will also lead Aventa’s Operations business unit. She will continue to lead ISC, which will retain its current name in Ireland.
