Hitachi Energy has entered into a strategic partnership with Blackstone Energy Transition Partners to expand its service business and support power infrastructure reliability across North America. Under the agreement, Hitachi Energy will acquire a stake in Shermco, a provider of maintenance, repair, testing, commissioning, and design services recently acquired by funds affiliated with Blackstone.
The company is also investing more than US$1 billion globally to expand its service operations, develop new digital service solutions with HMAX Energy, and grow its workforce, including the training and certification of more than 5,000 additional service specialists worldwide.
