The Global Wind Energy Council is pleased to announce that Liming Qiao has joined the organisation as Policy Director as of 1 September 2008.

Reporting directly to the Secretary General, Liming will be in charge of GWEC's policy and lobbying efforts, with a special focus on the international climate change negotiations. Before joining GWEC, Liming worked with WWF in the China Climate and Energy Programme, focusing on climate negotiation issues and renewable energy policy since 2003. In this position, she has gained in-depth knowledge of climate change and energy issues, particularly in UNFCCC and Kyoto Protocol negotiations and international climate change strategies. Liming is an economist who recently completed an MSc in environmental studies at the Erasmus Mundus programme in University of Manchester and Central European University in Budapest.
