Montrose Port marks 1 GWh of renewable shore power

Montrose Port Authority has reached the milestone of delivering 1 GWh of renewable electricity through its Plug Montrose shore power facility. The system enables offshore energy vessels to connect to the port grid and draw electricity certified with a Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin, allowing them to shut down diesel engines while berthed and maintain full onboard operations.
EFTA Surveillance Authority approves Norwegian floating offshore wind aid scheme

Study finds migratory birds largely avoid wind turbines

A new study by the Bundesverband Windenergie Offshore (BWO) reports that migratory birds almost completely avoid wind turbines, resulting in a far lower collision risk than previously assumed. The study, conducted by BioConsult SH, examined the actual collision risk in a coastal onshore wind farm in northern Germany, aiming to provide data to support nature-compatible wind energy development.
