LM Wind Power is remodelling its Grand Forks, North Dakota, USA plant to accommodate the construction of longer wind turbine blades.
The project will allow for easier movement of the fiberglass blades between the company’s plant and the building next door, where crews put on the finishing touches. LM Wind Power has commitments from customers for blades as long as 184 feet, 26 feet longer than the longest currently made there. The company hopes to complete the project early next year.
