The Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT), Renexia, and Mingyang have signed an agreement to establish a supply chain for floating offshore wind energy in Italy.
The agreement aims to create a new company that will set up an industrial site in Italy to produce most of the components for wind turbines, starting with the 2.8 GW Med Wind project, a floating offshore wind farm in the Mediterranean off the coast of Trapani. The agreement also seeks to encourage the entry of new Italian stakeholders into the shareholding over time and to promote investments, including international ones, to support the growth of this sector in Italy.
