Qair and Plenitude have announced the formation of a new consortium, Eolbleu, to participate in France’s AO9 offshore wind tender. The tender comprises four major projects representing up to 2.9 GW of new capacity across several coastal regions.
The four projects are:
- 450–550 MW (floating) – Occitanie
- 450–550 MW (floating) – Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur
- 400–550 MW (floating) – South of Brittany
- 1,000–1,250 MW (floating or fixed) – Nouvelle-Aquitaine
France has set targets of 18 GW of offshore wind by 2035 and 45 GW by 2050. Qair will contribute its experience in floating offshore wind through its ongoing and planned developments, including the 30 MW Eolmed pilot project under construction in France and the 1 GW Ayre project in Scotland, developed via the Thistle Wind Partners consortium
These developments also support Qair’s future plans for participation in commercial tenders in Spain and Portugal.
