NeXtWind has secured funding to support the modernisation of its wind farm portfolio. The financing will be used to repower more than half of NeXtWind’s existing wind farms, raising their combined capacity to over 1GW by 2028.
The company raised €1.4 billion in debt financing and the agreement also includes €1.3 billion in additional accordion facilities, which can be drawn in tranches over the coming years. Founded in 2020, the company focuses on acquiring and upgrading operational wind farms by installing new turbines and technologies. NeXtWind’s current repowering pipeline stands at around 1.4GW, with completion expected by 2026. By 2028, the company aims to reach 3GW of generation capacity, combining upgraded sites and newly developed projects.
