Orix Corporation has signed a share transfer agreement to sell its entire stake in Greenko Energy Holdings (Greenko) to AM Green Power, a wholly owned subsidiary of AM Green.
Greenko operates renewable energy companies in India and manages power generation facilities with a total installed capacity of 7.3 GW, spanning solar, wind, and hydroelectric power. The company is also advancing the development of large-scale pumped storage power projects.
Orix initially invested in Greenko in March 2021 and has since supported its growth. Alongside the share transfer, Orix will invest in a convertible note issued by AM Green (Luxembourg), the parent company of AM Green Power. Completion of the share transfer and note investment is expected by the end of March 2025, pending regulatory approvals and standard closing conditions.
